Defence
The UK has a strong and growing defence relationship with Malawi. Under the auspices of the High Commissioner, our Defence Adviser is Col Jeff Sims(resident in Harare), but visits Malawi frequently. His key roles are to:
- Provide military advice to the High Commissioner, the UK Ministry of Defence and the Malawian Ministry of Defence .
- Foster and develop defence-related bilateral links between Britain and Malawi. These include promoting UK military doctrine, training and Defence Diplomacy, and encouraging defence cooperation and regional stability.
- Manage and monitor all Commonwealth war memorial Centres.
