The High Commission is divided into the following Sections:

1. Consular Section provides assistance to British nationals resident or travelling in Malawi. They also provide passport services.

2. Political, Public Affairs and Defence Section provides a range of political and policy analysis on Malawi; explaining British policy to the Malawian community. Also responsible for managing bi-lateral projects and all aspects of the defence relationship between Britain and Malawi.

3. Management Section is responsible for all personnel, financial and administrative services.

Note: There is no longer a Visa Section at the British High Commission in Lilongwe. All visa applications submitted in Malawi are handled in  by our commercial partner, VFS and assessed  at the British High Commission in Pretoria.

We have an Honorary Consul based in Blantyre, at the offices of Savjani & Co, Hannover House. This office holds passport forms and can advise on other consular issues.
